These road shows will be held in parallel to the World Travel Market, (WTM) which is one of the leading global events in the Travel and Tourism Trade, attracting more than 35,000 visitors, 5000 exhibitors and around 2000 travel agents, including 200 tour operators in which Sri Lanka will also be a participant.
Sri Lanka Tourism recorded a total of 1.7 million arrivals in 2015, an increase of 17.8 % over 2014. UK is the third largest source market behind India and China with 161,845 visitors in 2015, 12.3 % up on 2014. The UK residents will have a rare chance of exploring the cultural wonder of Sri Lanka.
‘‘The road show was developed to strengthen the relations with the UK travel trade , and show travel agents the impressive range of experiences that Sri Lanka has to offer,” Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Chairman P. M Withana said.
The road show will further provide knowledge to agents for them to get a better idea of the destination and its scenic beauty and historic places, with so much to explore.
